Come ogni anno in occasione dell’8 marzo Torino ha corso con grande entusiasmo per la ricerca sulle malattie oncologiche, in particolare sui tumori che colpiscono le donne con Just The Woman I Am (JTWIA), la corsa-camminata solidale non competitiva di circa 5 km che si svolge ogni anno a Torino in occasione dell’8 marzo, Giornata internazionale della donna. L’iniziativa è organizzata dal Centro Universitario Sportivo Torino e dall’Università di Torino, con il coinvolgimento di enti pubblici, aziende e associazioni. È un grande evento pubblico che unisce sport, prevenzione, ricerca scientifica e partecipazione civile. Non nasce come gara agonistica ma come corsa-camminata aperta a tutti, uomini e donne. Il ricavato delle iscrizioni – in questo caso 35.000 donazioni singole – viene destinato a progetti di ricerca universitaria sul cancro e a iniziative di prevenzione.

Migliaia di persone hanno preso parte alla nuova edizione. Un appuntamento che cresce anno dopo anno e che continua a mobilitare comunità, aziende e cittadini attorno a un obiettivo comune: sostenere la ricerca e promuovere stili di vita sani. Tra i protagonisti della giornata anche il nostro gruppo Sella, che ha partecipato con una presenza numerosa di colleghe e colleghi, trasformando l’evento in un momento di squadra oltre che di solidarietà. Un segnale concreto di come il mondo delle imprese possa essere parte attiva nelle iniziative che uniscono responsabilità sociale, benessere e comunità. E poi c’è stata la vittoria nella corsa di Aurora Picco, al lavoro in Banca Patrimoni Sella & C. e che ha tagliato il traguardo davanti a tutti (qui puoi leggere l’intervista) Un risultato che racconta perfettamente lo spirito della manifestazione: competizione sì, ma dentro una cornice di condivisione e sostegno alla ricerca.
