Con inaugurazione venerdì 24 ottobre 2025, la mostra CARTA. La forza espressiva della Paper Art curata da Dina Pierallini e Elena Bermond des Ambrois, offre un panorama internazionale sulla scultura contemporanea in carta e legno. 

Prodotta da Fondazione Sella e allestita nello storico Lanificio Maurizio Sella a Biella, è un omaggio alla bellezza e un'analisi della trasformazione e della memoria: la scelta di realizzare un percorso che unisce carta e legno è particolarmente significativa in un periodo storico in cui il rapporto tra uomo e natura è osservata attraverso una lente critica. Il legno, resistente, con le sue venature uniche, e la carta, leggera, con la sua fragilità, diventano metafore della condizione umana: resilienti ma vulnerabili, con profonde radici nel tempo e slancio verso il futuro. 

Risalendo la linea della storia, la mostra tratta il legame del Lanificio Maurizio Sella con la produzione della carta. Qui nei primi decenni del Cinquecento Antonio Mondella stabilì la sua cartiera sulla riva sinistra del torrente Cervo, dove fu attiva per quasi due secoli. È l’edificio più antico ancora esistente nel complesso immobiliare del Lanificio. Una parte di esposizione è dedicata a narrare questa antica vicenda attraverso 
documenti d’archivio. 

Nata in collaborazione con istituzioni, enti culturali e artisti offre un programma di attività collaterali per far sì che la mostra diventi anche strumento di condivisione e partecipazione collettiva: LUBICA - Lucca Biennale, manifestazione di livello internazionale di arte e architettura in carta, Fondazione Arkad, Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara e Liceo Artistico Quintino Sella, ITS-TAM, Accademia Unidee Fondazione Pistoletto, Associazione Culturale Giapponese Yamato, Fondazione Accademia Perosi. La mostra si inserisce anche nel programma della Settimana della Cultura d’Impresa 2025 promossa da Confindustria e Museimpresa. 

CARTA continua il percorso di valorizzazione del Lanificio Maurizio Sella promosso da Fondazione Sella con le mostre ACQUA E LAVORO (2010), L’ALTRA MACCHINA (2019), LANA (2021), SETA (2023) e TRAME DI VITA (2024) dedicate ai diversi materiali lavorati in questo luogo nel corso dei secoli.
