Da lunedì 23 settembre all’11 gennaio 2025 Palazzo Bricherasio, sede istituzionale di Banca Patrimoni Sella & C., ospita la mostra L’eco dell’anima, una rassegna espositiva dello scultore Giovanni Balderi, a cura di Daniela Magnetti, Dina Pierallini e Elena Des Ambrois.

Le figure sinuose e sottili delle opere esposte nelle esedre dialogano con le curve morbide e le linee decise di quelle esposte all’interno dello scalone e delle sale auliche del Palazzo.
Il titolo della mostra, L’eco dell'anima, richiama quei sentimenti che l’artista ha più volte dichiarato di provare ogni qualvolta si trova di fronte al fascino della preziosa materia prima: 

Ogni blocco ha dentro di sé la tua anima, la possiede, la imprigiona, la libera.
Puoi solo scriverla nel tuo tempo, per farne un’eco che, se sostenuto dalle mani del mondo, feconderà gli occhi che ancora non vedono, che emozionerà cuori, che ancora non battono… 
Puoi così sopravvivere, nel cuore e nell’Anima del mondo, semplicemente danzando sopra una spiaggia di Marmo

È così che lo scalpello di Giovanni Balderi plasma la materia alla ricerca dell’anima intrappolata all’interno del blocco di marmo che, nonostante la sua durezza, si presenta allo sguardo come leggero e delicato. L’eco di quell'anima che l’artista libera dai vincoli della materia e modella in forme leggiadre, viene catturato dall’occhio dell’osservatore che percepisce ogni scultura come una rappresentazione visiva dei conflitti interiori e della capacità umana di far fronte alle fragilità. Sebbene il momento della creazione e quello dell’osservazione siano diversi e separati e sebbene l’artista e il visitatore restino lontani, essi sono uniti dalle emozioni che la superficie levigata del marmo restituisce e suscita in ciascuno. 
Questo invito a connettersi con le proprie emozioni rende ogni opera un ponte tra passato e presente, interiorità e mondo esterno, evocando talora solo sensazioni, talora anche riflessioni intime e profonde.

Le sculture di Balderi, frutto di una costante ricerca iconografica, pur presentando un’impronta comune sono caratterizzate al contempo da elementi fortemente individuali: sembrano appartenere a epoche diverse, dimostrando la straordinaria capacità dell’artista di fondere archetipi classici con una reinterpretazione contemporanea. La mostra ha ottenuto il Patrocinio del Comune di Pietrasanta, una perla incastonata nello splendore della Versilia, situata ai piedi dell’imponente catena delle Alpi Apuane, definita la Piccola Atene, città del marmo e degli artisti.
