Launch of the first Sellalab Open Coworking space at Lanificio Maurizio Sella
The first Open Coworking space of Sellalab, the innovation platform of the Sella group, saw the light in Biella, in the historic Lanificio Maurizio Sella, as an open space to come across different ideas, innovations and professional skills.
The new 350 square meters space with over 80 workstations will be open to remote workers from local and extraterritorial companies, freelancers, entrepreneurs, startuppers and students to perform their activities in an innovative and dynamic environment, close to contact with different realities.
A project also resolved to, sustainably, take part in the enhancement and attractiveness of the territory, enabling the development of the local ecosystem and the diffusion of the innovative open ecosystem fostered by the Sella group.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a change in the working paradigm with an extensive spread of remote working and this is expected to continue even when the situation will go back to normal.
Based on these assumptions, the Sella group has decided to create an Open Coworking space, providing a common, structured and organized place for people or companies in need of a workstation or a networking area, thus enabling the contamination of ideas, knowledge and experiences.
What is the Open Coworking space of Sellalab
Spread over a 350 square meters area, the Open Coworking space of Sellalab is located in Biella, in the historic industrial complex of the Lanificio Maurizio Sella, via Corradino Sella, 10.
The new facility offers a solution to employees not only of local companies but also of companies with offices in other regions or abroad, freelancers, entrepreneurs, startuppers and students, to meet their needs in terms of spaces, tools and platforms, suitable for effective remote working, overcoming the limits entailed by home working activities.
Thanks to the presence of Sella Team people, open banking offices, the Business University of the Sella group and the startups currently part of the Sellalab innovation platform, this space also allows to support social relations in light of the effects of the pandemic through the development of meetings and projects.
The goals
The Sellalab Open Coworking facility aims at enhancing the entire Biella area, making it competitive and attractive, helping to boost the local economic recovery. The initiative allows getting in touch with different entities, bringing together skills and talents in the same place, thus assisting the execution of transversal projects among the various actors and labour forces.
The Sellalab Open Coworking facility is part of the evolution of the open innovation ecosystem of which Sella group is a promoter, bringing benefits in terms of environmental sustainability, reducing travels and resulting in undoubted savings of time and resources.
